Planes

Want to experience the thrill of flying your own plane? Well, here is your chance!! Aero-modelling is a hobby rapidly gaining popularity in India. Just walk to your nearest hobby store and pick up an airplane construction kit and start building!! It will take just around 2 weeks to make it at your own pace. Once you've finished, its time to take off...

There are 3 types of planes available in the market :-
1) Radio-controlled
2) Fuel Powered
3) Battery Powered

The most efficient and the most popular are the fuel powered planes. They stay airborne for a comparatively longer time. While the battery powered can be flown for a short time ,they are faster and there is no mess of refueling them. Radio controlled planes are exactly that...they can be controlled in flight to change direction, speed and altitude. This makes them a favourite amongst kids. Contrary to popular belief, not all planes are remote controlled. Infact, most planes are non-radio controlled. The disadvantage is that, most radio controlled planes are battery-powered.

When you buy the kit, the necessary material is normally given with the pack, but you will need some other add-ons to make your experience more enjoyable. The coolest add-on to your plane is a tiny camera which is very useful to spy on your neighbours!

But while you fly, some precautions have to be followed :-
-Be careful when launching planes in strong wind; they might fly a lot further than you had anticipated.
-Don't fly planes near trees or power lines.
-Planes are fun for all ages while radio controlled and gas-powered planes are ideal for big kids.
